Bristle had her pups around noon today. She got the job done in a little over 2 hours which is quick for her. The pups are all very active and mom has lots of food for them. Three girls were 7-7.5 oz. and the boy was 8 oz at birth and it looks like half of his weight is in his very impressive head (just like daddy). You can tell by the smile on Bristle's face that she is really pleased with herself. The boy is the one using the big girl as a pillow.
Here they are at 1 week. The boy now weighs 15 and the girls 14 oz. They are very mobile and you can see in some of the pictures, almost on their feet. In the group shot the boy is lower right.
Next photo's around Nov 24 so check back for them. They will have their eyes open and running around by then.
I couldn't wait until Nov 24 so here are some new pictures. They are 12 days old here. They are well over 16oz now. The boy is the one on the left. The girl beside him looks like she will have a bigger head (just like daddy).
Pictures taken Nov 24/03. They are just getting used to being out of their whelping pen for a few minutes each day. In the next week they will be tearing around with that typical Jack Russell spirit.
Pictures of the pups tucking into their first solid food. Taken Dec 5 '03. They are 34 days old now and in a couple of days will be weaned from their mom.
They are almost 8 weeks old now and are a real sweet bunch. Couldn't resist the Christmas pictures.
